Ward History Database
The Ward History Database provides a history of electoral wards/divisions in England and Wales since Census Day 1991. Based in MS Access, the current edition includes information up to 31/12/2000. Future releases are expected annually. Specific database features:
Annual ward/division lists, which can be displayed either for the whole of England and Wales or by district (metropolitan or non-metropolitan), unitary authority or London borough.
Search facility for single ward/division names or codes, in order to trace the post-1991 history of that ward/division.
Ability to relate ward/divisions as at 31 December of any selected year to wards/divisions as at the 1991 Census.
Annual lists of wards/divisions affected by physical/non-physical changes (where non-physical changes are changes to names, codes or other structural changes.
