The profile data are provided in Nesstar format (dynamic datasets), each indicator by sex; four time periods; deaths, DSRs, confidence intervals, and years (for life expectancy):
>; by PCT and PCT deprivation quintiles
>; by PCT and MSOAs
>; by County/UA and County/UA deprivation quintiles
>; by County/UA and MSOAs

Summaries of inequalities within the areas are available for
>; Counties/UAs
>; PCTs

Updated data will also be provided in a spreadsheet and mapped in an interactive atlas.

Methods

erpho’s Briefing No.17 (Quick Link 16969) summarises guidance on how to calculate inequalities, and describes themethodology usedin the data analysis for this year’s profiles.

Special note re Figure 3: Please note that for the four profiles where the PCT and county are coterminous, the data used to plot the range and position of each indicator in Figure 3 are that of all PCTs rather than counties.
