Analyst Course

We aim to improve the understanding, analysis and application of public health intelligence to improve health in the East of England. Erpho will be running two courses addressing the knowledge and skills needs of analysts, researchers, health improvement, information professionals and commissioners in PCTs, the SHA, PBC, local authorities and other organisations in the East of England.

We no longer aniticpate running the Analyst Course in 2011, however early 2012 is a possibility. When we know the future we will tailor the public health Analyst Course accordingly.

The main aim is to:

To improve understanding and interpretation of health intelligence through practical examples.

The core modules element of the course will now be run twice a year.

Course structure:

Day 1. Introducing Public Health Intelligence.

Day 2. Statistics and data sources pt.1.

Day 3. Statistics and data sources pt2.

Day 4. Applied Public Health Intelligence.

Day 5 Bringing it all together - The Effective Analyst.

The first five days of the advanced course are compulsory, we cannot split them up and you must attend all five or none at all.
