Please note that the 2 Unitary Authorities have only existed since 1 April 2009. The area of Central Bedfordshire previously consisted of Mid Bedfordshire (09UC) and South Bedfordshire (09UE) Local Authorities. Bedford Unitary Authority covers the same area as the former Local Authority of Bedford (09UD). Bedfordshire county has ceased to exist as of 1 April 2009. | |

NOTE: Unfortunately there was a mistake in the source data for the GCSE achievement indicator in the Health Profiles 2009 provided by DSCF, which means that the figures included in the profiles for Bedford UA and Central Bedfordshire UA are incorrect. The DCSF made a mistake transposing two local authority figures in their published dataset, which has now been amended.
The correct GCSE achievement (5A*- C including English and Mathematics) at key stage 4 in 2007/08 is:
46.6% for Bedford and
51.0% for Central Bedfordshire.
